Presentation of the Silifish trial
A scientific approach to optimize water quality and improve livestock performance
SILIFISH, a biomineral complex informed by a special process, aims to ease the difficult transition of shrimp farms in the final weeks, when the dissolved oxygen level begins to run low, causing a high mortality rate. SILIFISH intervenes on the “redox” balance and ensures a good oxygen concentration in the water.
Since weight gains are highest in absolute terms during the last 4 weeks of rearing, oxygenation of the environment is essential. In addition, during this period, animal densities and suspended organic matter become very problematic.
SILIFISH is used in ponds with very high density, or showing marked signs of anoxia (very low Po2 and high MOS).
Add 500 g/ha/week SILIFISH during the last 4 weeks of breeding. Suspend SILIFISH in 10 to 20 L of water beforehand. Diffuse SILIFISH preferably using a mixer or aerator.
In case of significant overload of organic matter, it is advisable to double the dose during the first application (i.e. 1 kg SILIFISH/ha of surface)
